Counselling is a supportive, safe space to explore your feelings and issues, fears, doubts, or just a space to gain a new perspective on something by talking it through with a professional.
I am an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor, offering weekly or fortnightly face-to-face or online 50 minute therapy sessions for individual adults and adolescents (age 11 +), tailored to the needs of each client in a compassionate and sensitive way.
The sessions are confidential, in a safe space where you can share openly and explore deep-rooted emotional patterns, process any trauma, reflect and gain a better understanding of the self, develop self-compassion and emotional well-being that can help to inform change and improve self-worth, rebuild your identity, confidence and self-esteem.
I work in a non-judgmental and respectful manner and the therapeutic relationship that develops between us is essential throughout the work.
I have experience working professionally and empathetically either in open-ended or short-term counselling with:
Bereavement
Loss
Trauma
Abuse
Anxiety
Depression
Anger
Self-harm
Relationship issues
Sex, sexuality
Gender
Self-esteem / self-worth
Confidence
Personal development
Work issues
Health / ill health
The emotional impact of the above
Counselling may help to achieve a more authentic way of being, as I believe if we can make sense of and understand how our past affects our present feelings and behaviours it may be possible to make changes to the way we live our lives and relate to others in the present.
Counselling may not be an easy process. Sharing emotional and difficult situations or experiences, and feelings can be daunting as well as finding ways to change which may bring mixed feelings, but with my support along the way, we will endeavour to find the way forward that is right for you.
